Growing the expertise of Senior Teachers in order for them to support the professional growth of colleagues and teachers in the school and cluster, and to encourage more colleagues and teachers in the school to embark on the journey to become Senior Teachers.

• Deepen understanding of the important role of Senior Teachers in leading learning
• Enable Senior Teachers to appreciate the core role of creating opportunities for others to learn and grow through meaningful conversations and take pride in what they do

 

Journey of Growth for W6 ST Guild in 2015

1. Clarify understanding of role of Senior Teachers in ‘growing others’

2. Appreciate the challenges faced in the journey towards becoming a Senior Teacher and use this knowledge to support teachers who are keen to become Senior Teachers

3. Understand the developmental needs of teacher who are keen to be on the teaching track, in order to design a developmental programme to guide and support them in their journey
