Basic Computer Training (BCT) for OSOs |

Objective Participants to acquire hands-on basic computer skills and knowledge.
The BCT is a progressive program where participants learn and benefit by acquiring Microsoft Office software knowledge and skills. This will enable them to support and contribute towards school’s operations and administration. OMs also rendered assistance to the IT trainer in guiding OSOs during the practical session.

Learning Journey to ISD Heritage Centre |

Objective Participants to gain a better understanding of the security challenges facing Singapore as well as an insight into ISD and how it works.
Learning Site This is a 3-hour guided tour. Participants can see displays and exhibits on various security themes such as terrorism, race and religious extremism, espionage, Communist Party of Malaya and the Indonesian Confrontation. There is also a section in the Centre showcasing the history, structure and organisation of ISD.

As the haze went up to an unhealthy range in noon, instead of having lunch in UWS we have decided to proceed back to GSS for lunch and conducted a sharing in the GSS. All participants were checked and were feeling alright before and after the LJ.In general, all were positive about the LJ, other than the haze.

About the Programme:

To learn about the history of Singapore’s education from the 19th century to the present and the role of teachers in developing their students. In addition, participants also learn how Singapore’s education system continues to evolve to meet the challenges of the future. The visit encourages participants to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the role of education in nurturing individuals and in nation-building. This visit is to instil a sense of pride and belongings in the Oms and OSOs to be part of the teaching fraternity. |
